The Somatic Therapy Suite

Located on the same floor as our main office, the Somatic Therapy Suite is a space designed for the unique needs of clients seeking mind-body work as a component of their therapy. We provide a dedicated waiting area and a special suite built for yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, dance, and other forms of body-based interventions in mind.

Somatic therapy is a type of therapy that treats a person by focusing on the mind-body connection. When someone has endured trauma, it can surface not just emotionally but also through physical manifestations. This includes muscular pain, body language, and physical tension. Treating the mind and body concurrently helps people address the effects of trauma and overcome them.

During somatic therapy, the therapist guides the individual through both talk therapy and an appropriate form of physical activity. This helps the person understand the connection between their mental and emotional states and how they manifest as physical expressions.
