Nashville Therapy Group

Ashley Lanaux, LPC-MHSP (temp)

Counselor at the Nashville Office

You’re the expert on your life, and I can’t wait to learn more about you.

I believe that we as individuals are always learning and growing. What may have served us in the past may no longer serve our best interests today. You are the expert on your life, and I cannot wait to meet you. My goal as your therapist is to learn more about you, your worldview, the experiences that have led you to this moment, and explore what brought you into therapy. It takes courage to look inward, and you will not be alone. We will work together every step of the way to address your challenges and validate your progress (or as I like to call them, little victories).

I utilize an integrative, creative approach through evidence-based practices to create an individualized treatment plan that is specifically tailored to you as there is no one size fits all approach to therapy. Whether you are struggling with a mental health disorder, substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder, self-esteem, struggling with perfectionism, creative blocks, a big transition in your life, unresolved trauma, or simply feeling stuck, we can work together to help you live the life you want. After all, you are the lead character in the movie of your life. How do you want to live it?

Clinical Experience

I have been working directly with clients since 2021 in a variety of settings including treatment centers facilitating clients through all levels of care as well as a mental health organization specializing in OCD, anxiety disorders, and depression. Some of my more specific areas of clinical experience include substance use, life transitions, identity, depression, grief/loss, trauma, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders such as, social anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias.

Clinical Specialties

As a pre-licensed therapist, I am trained to diagnose and treat mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. I practice an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy that includes cognitive-behavioral, exposure and response prevention, acceptance and commitment therapy, 12 Step Facilitation, and solution-focused interventions. I am also trained in Brainspotting.

Before becoming a mental health counselor, I worked in the music industry for 15+ years as a publicist communicating between the artists and the media. Finding a therapist that understands the demands of artists and creative professionals can seem like you are looking for a needle in a haystack. Until now. I understand not only the demands the industry places on artists and creative professionals, but also how that can affect you physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Often times individuals engage in a number of unhealthy coping behaviors that make matters worse. Together we can explore expectations you put on yourself, expectations of others, unhealthy coping mechanisms, unresolved trauma, co-occurring disorders, and even creative mental blocks.
