Marriage and Family Therapist at the Nashville Office

The best way out is always through.

So, you find yourself looking for a therapist. This could feel like the most natural thing in the world to you, or the most uncomfortable and unfamiliar. Wherever you find yourself on that spectrum, my goal is to help you feel empowered in your quest to get what you need!

Hi, I’m Russell, your friendly veteran-turned-therapist. I love working with individuals, couples, and families on issues keeping them from living their best life and experiencing it to the fullest. If you’re struggling with anxious or depressed thoughts, fighting feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, or inadequacy, floating through life on autopilot, or simply frustrated by the state of your relationships, then I would love to work with you towards healing and hope!

During our sessions together, we will work collaboratively as you process through and feel your emotions, ask and answer questions, gain new perspectives by challenging old ones, and develop insight while moving through the stages of change at your own pace. My ideal clients come in knowing they want to change, but are stuck and unsure of where to begin. If that is you, I’m here to help.

Whether you’re at your wit’s end and in the midst of full on crisis mode, or you’re simply looking to take the next step in your self-development journey towards becoming your best self, I’d love to help you build the skills and do the work necessary to achieve meaningful and lasting change. Reach out with any questions you may have today!

Clinical Experience

As a clinician, I have worked primarily in outpatient settings with a diverse clientele seeking help for a wide range of issues. My clinical experience prior to coming to Nashville Therapy Group includes working at The Briggs Institute, Daystar Counseling Ministries, and the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center where I served individuals, couples, and families within the greater Nashville area.

I practice an integrative and evidence-based approach to therapy that includes solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, Gottman, and Bowenian-based interventions.

Clinical Specialties

I enjoy working with couples, students, young adults, business professionals, veterans, first responders, and anyone else looking to become the best version of themselves possible.

My areas of interest include depression, anxiety, major life transitions, work-life balance issues, relationship issues, premarital therapy, discernment counseling, trauma, self-worth issues, body image issues, disordered eating, spirituality, and church hurt.
