Alyssa Durdunji, LMFT
Director of the EMDR & Trauma Therapy Program
I am passionate about seeing lives and relationships restored. I recognize the courage it takes to come to therapy and believe that transformation happens in the context of relationships when people feel heard and understood. My hope is to invite clients into a safe space where we have the opportunity to honestly confront painful and uncomfortable issues. Through a collaborative process, integrating cognitive-behavioral, emotionally-focused, attachment-based, and trauma interventions, my clients and I work to find insight and develop skills that lead to healing.
Clinical Experience
I have worked with a diverse range of individuals and couples in community, private practice, and psychiatric hospital settings. During my master’s work, I completed conflict management training for civil and family mediation as well as Prepare/Enrich certification for premarital couples. I utilize attachment-based EMDR with many clients who have experienced various types of trauma. Prior to working as an LMFT I worked in social work and outreach settings mentoring adolescents and providing basic needs, counseling services, and parenting classes in elementary school and domestic violence shelter settings.
Clinical Specialties
Areas of special clinical interest include trauma, relationship issues, self-worth anxiety, depression, life transitions, couple/family conflict, substance abuse (including family members impacted by addiction), and grief/loss.
